May: a month of climatic transition

May marks a very important time of change for our microclimate: we’re starting to turn off the heating, but it’s not yet fully air conditioning season. So it’s a good time to pay attention to what we breathe and improve the air quality indoors.
Ventilating the air is a good habit, especially in spring, as we don’t fear the cold or heat too much. However, we must be aware of what can enter our homes from outside. May is peak pollen season, which can easily enter buildings when windows are opened.
Furthermore, after winter, homes may have accumulated humidity, mold, excess CO2, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from cleaning products, which can deteriorate the indoor air quality.
To avoid this, it’s advisable to use natural products, ventilate the rooms while cleaning, and avoid overly chemical sprays and air fresheners.
A good habit to prevent problems and allergies related to air pollution is to constantly monitor what we breathe in our living spaces to protect our health and that of those around us.
